Summary

A 28-year-old woman with ME/CFS, caught in a push-crash cycle and no longer able to work, used a heart-rate monitor set to beep whenever she exceeded her anaerobic threshold as a cue to sit or lie down, combined with gentle flexibility work, lying-down resistance training and diaphragmatic breathing. Over a year on the program her blood-pressure response to maximal effort, respiratory rate and anaerobic threshold all rose, and her recovery time after exercise testing shortened from about a month to about a week. She reported substantial gains in general functioning, though the piece does not describe a full return to normal health.
