Summary
Sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim (Bactrim), taken twice daily over at least two separate courses roughly nine months apart. She had chronic ME/CFS with severe malaise that began two to three years earlier, on top of gut issues lasting around twenty years. Within two days of starting Bactrim each time, her constant malaise "totally went away." The relief did not last: her malaise eventually returned after each course ended, requiring the antibiotic to be repeated. She reports no lasting cure, only temporary relief that faded once she stopped taking it.
