Summary
Rachel Strohm received a first dose of the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine (Ixiaro) in April 2022, along with meningitis, typhoid and Tdap boosters, followed by a second JEV dose a week later. She had been ill with long COVID for about four months, reaching a point where she could only stand up or focus for about an hour a day. Within hours of the second JEV dose her energy began improving and she felt "buzzing with energy" the next day, an initial surge that lasted almost 10 days; ten months after vaccination her energy levels were holding at about 90 percent of her pre-pandemic baseline, though she still needs more rest than she used to.
