My daughter's ME recovery story

Summary

A mother describes her daughter's recovery through two Lightning Process courses, the first in Newcastle in January 2009 and a second about a year later with a different instructor, after a stay at Catosenteret rehabilitation centre during which her condition worsened week by week with significant weight loss. The daughter had fallen ill around age 14 with frequent headaches, stomach aches and recurrent fevers, was diagnosed with ME the following year, and by the time of the first course was wheelchair-dependent and managing only about 15 minutes of schooling on good days. After the first course she walked off the plane home unaided; she went on to finish upper secondary school, complete further study in Spain, and has since studied and worked for several years in Norway and the UK. Her mother notes there was still a lot of focus on "the process" (the LP exercises) as her recovery continued, indicating ongoing practice of the techniques. The mother says all has remained well regarding the ME, while noting her daughter can of course fall ill like anyone else.
