Summary

GrammaLinda, who has ME/CFS along with low blood pressure and atrial fibrillation, did several shorter fasts of 20-36 hours and set out on a planned six-week fasting trial. Instead she developed an erratic heart rhythm, a return of her atrial fibrillation and severe shortness of breath, needing emergency help from her spouse and nearly calling an ambulance. She attributed it to electrolyte imbalance, stopped fasting, and urges others to give it "strong and informed consideration" before trying it.
