Summary
Maitake mushroom, one component of the Cusack Protocol supplement regimen, was taken by a forum poster with thoracic spinal instability linked to their ME; illness duration is not stated. Within days of starting it they noticed they could stand longer and their spine felt less unstable. After about four weeks, immune symptoms that had been in remission for roughly two years flooded back, including POTS, headache and flu-like body aches, so they stopped. A week after stopping, residual symptoms persisted, though the improved spinal stability remained. They planned to switch to aloe vera, another Cusack Protocol component, instead.
