Summary
Recovered via a four-day treatment programme in Fitjar, Norway in February 2018, run by psychiatrist Bjarte Stubhaug together with mindfulness instructor Hanne Suorza, covering education about ME, acceptance techniques, sleep and nutrition guidance, gentle activity and mindfulness/sensory exercises focused on staying present, later reinforced with a mindfulness app the pair developed. A trained nurse, she had been ill for 17 years, from January 2001 to February 2018, unable to work and spending extended periods on the sofa with unpredictable crashes from minimal activity. She writes "NOW, I AM WELL AGAIN!", reporting no symptoms the morning after applying the course's tools and saying "I have been given the tools to keep it away." One severe symptom episode occurred during the course itself but resolved using the taught methods, and no relapse afterward is mentioned. She still does daily sensory exercises as maintenance alongside regular time in nature and kayaking.
