Summary

Recovered using the Lightning Process, taught over two days in her soundproofed bedroom on 11-13 December 2007 by an LP coach who had herself recovered from bedridden ME, after her mother heard about the method and her doctor recommended it having seen other recoveries. She had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1993 and later with ME/CFS, and from October 2005 to December 2007 was severely ill — at her worst blind, deaf and paralysed from the neck down, fed mashed food, needing round-the-clock care from her parents in a specially built soundproof room after a three-week cardiology admission at Aker Hospital and an unhelpful rehabilitation-centre stay, with dozens of alternative remedies and more than 40 simultaneous symptoms bringing no relief. On the final day of the course, 13 December 2007, she got out of bed, walked outside in her bathrobe into the winter air and never returned to the dark room, though she says the following year of "stopping and doing LP every time I felt abnormal exhaustion, pain or any other symptom" was "the most challenging job I have ever done, like giving birth." Ten years on she called herself recovered, working a few hours from a home office and active with her family, but says she no longer meets the Canada criteria for an ME diagnosis while still living with "quite a few issues" and less energy and capacity than before, plus unrelated diagnoses of LADA diabetes, breast cancer and hypothyroidism that emerged afterward. She reports no relapse of the ME itself but describes becoming "very vulnerable to stress," with her blood sugar now rising when she is anxious or troubled.
