Summary
Melissa's health declined after a jarring spinal injury in 2019 and she spent a year bedbound with extreme cognitive impairment, having been misdiagnosed with tickborne illness, narcolepsy and POTS. A CT myelogram finally found a spinal fluid leak, and five targeted fibrin and glue blood patches brought her maths ability back while she was still on the procedure table. Her pain disappeared and her energy and ability to do chores returned, though she says she still needs to overcome residual cognitive issues.
