Summary
Credits the Lightning Process, which he took in 2005 after eight years of illness and many prior approaches including acupuncture, juicing, meditation and yoga, nutritionist-prescribed supplements, herbal medicine, naturopathy, Chinese herbs, functional medicine and CBT. Diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome/ME/CFS from November 1997, at his worst he slept nearly 18 hours a day, could not walk for even a minute, could not watch TV, and was highly sensitive to food, exercise, excitement and stress. He says he "started feeling better and had more energy" after the Lightning Process, which "definitely played a massive part" in his recovery alongside techniques he developed himself, eventually cycling hard, playing tennis and badminton for hours, and returning to full-time work. He later trained as a hypnotherapist and coach and continues to work with ME/CFS patients teaching mind/body skills. He reports no ME/CFS relapse, though an unrelated physical injury five years before writing required surgery and currently limits his exercise capacity.
