Summary

Baduanjin Qigong: daily practice of the Eight Pieces of Brocade sequence, plus the Five Animals sequence and visualization on rest days, begun after a TCM doctor first prescribed simple qigong breathing exercises. She had been diagnosed with CFS in 2009, about four years before this account, and had been housebound for three months, unable to walk more than five minutes without resting. With daily practice she progressed from that severe disability to walking as long as she likes, working part time, and going out in the evenings. Symptoms returned whenever she stopped practicing, so continuing the daily routine as ongoing maintenance was necessary.
