Summary
Recovered following a self-owned graded activity plan designed with Hans Petter Fundingsrud, head of department at University Hospital of North Norway (UNN) in Tromso, after the family was connected to him via former footballer Arild Berg and a Swedish doctor, Arne Stenstrom. The Lightning Process was suggested by a helper but the boy himself refused to try it. Diagnosed with post-viral fatigue syndrome after a bout of presumed mononucleosis at age 12, he was bedridden practically all the time for the better part of a year, with muscular pain, headaches, distorted vision, insomnia, severe allergies and an inability to regulate his body temperature. At sixteen, three and a half years after falling ill, he completed a multi-day cross-country skiing trip organised by his school, which his mother says finally convinced her "the tough years were behind us." No relapse or ongoing maintenance routine is described beyond that point.
