Symbioflor-2: Another E.Coli Probiotic

Summary
Symbioflor-2, an E. coli probiotic, was taken over three weeks with the dose gradually increased to 21 drops a day. Illness duration and severity before starting are not stated, though prior stool testing had shown an absence of bifidobacteria, lactobacillus and E. coli. Rather than helping, the probiotic worsened their ME/CFS, bringing on severe depression, a sharp drop in their post-exertional malaise threshold, and brain fog described as ten times worse than before. The depression took about three days to subside after stopping, but a month later they still had not returned to their prior level of functioning. No benefit from the probiotic is reported at any point, and follow-up testing showed elevated E. coli levels afterward.
