Summary
Minja's recovery centred on gradual "baby steps" increases in activity combined with mindfulness, breathing exercises and progressive relaxation (drawing on teacher Rick Hanson), Brené Brown's podcast "Unlocking Us," and therapy she had previously used for stress, after illness that began in late March 2020 and, by September 2020, left her bedbound for three weeks alongside brain fog, headaches, sound/light sensitivity and near-fainting episodes. She attended the Karolinska Hospital covid clinic but felt it was "detrimental" to her recovery, particularly after becoming "obsessed" with monitoring her blood oxygen with an oximeter and suffering a frightening near-fainting episode that sent her to the emergency room, after which she discarded the device against medical advice and continued rehabilitating. She did not take a Lightning Process course herself, though she read about others using it on Recovery Norway and says she "would have benefited" from it. She writes, "just over half a year after I started to feel better... I feel almost completely well," having taken up running, working 75%, and caring for her children again, though she still notes occasional tiredness in her head and eyes that "is improving all the time, week by week" rather than describing a complete and final recovery.
