My recovery after my one and only crash.

Condition
ME/CFS
At worst
Very severe (bedbound, unable to do basic care)
Ill for
10 years
Published
Dec 2016

Summary

Combined a strict elimination diet (no gluten, dairy, processed food or fructose) with Lyrica at 225mg per day, low-dose naltrexone, ketotifen, antihistamines, B12 with methylfolate, rifaximin plus neomycin for SIBO, hyperbaric oxygen, and later tDCS. Illness progressed over about ten years from myofascial pain to fibromyalgia to full ME/CFS, reaching a point of being unable to tolerate sheets touching his legs. By the end of 2016 could go out dancing all night without needing tramadol, with brain fog, light sensitivity and noise sensitivity gone, though pain and fatigue only partly resolved. Describes the recovery as continuous but uneven, with a bad relapse-like week after stopping CoQ10, and says he keeps to the diet religiously on an ongoing basis.
