Anyone improve from bed/housebound to high level of functionality?

Summary
Mostly bedridden (occasionally a little more functional) for years after a 1982 onset, she did colonic irrigation, acupuncture and Chinese herbs from 1986-1988 and rose to near-normal activity with only mild symptoms, holding that level for about 15 years (1988-2003) - elsewhere describing the same period as "95% well for about 12 years." She hedges "it's impossible to say whether these led to my improvement." The remission ended in 2003 when a skiing accident triggered fibromyalgia, and in a later post she says she is now "quite a lot worse than I was in the 1980s."
