Condition
ME/CFS
At worst
Severe (mostly bedbound)
Ill for
40 years
Published
Dec 2011

Summary

Dr. Snyderman, who developed CFS about a decade after an oral polio vaccine and later CLL, started AZT plus raltegravir 571 days after his CLL diagnosis and improved for about 9.4 months, with falling cytokine markers and better fatigue, concentration and neuropathic pain. His blood counts then relapsed despite continuing both drugs; adding tenofovir produced a second response lasting only 14-20 weeks at the time of the report, so the benefit did not durably hold.
