Summary
Nineteen years after a suspected tick bite left her unable to walk more than 10-20 minutes, a UK woman in her late 60s started a modified Cowden herbal protocol (Banderol/Cumanda, Andrographis 4/day, Japanese Knotweed 12/day for about three months, teasel root, low-dose oregano) alongside a brief 5-day course of azithromycin she credits less than the herbs. Within about eight months her daily step count rose from a baseline of 3,000-5,200 to a sustained 10,000-10,450+, she swam 10 pool lengths for the first time in 20+ years, and POTS symptoms substantially eased. She still had one clear relapse mid-course (migraine, muscle pain, sore throat) that resolved within days, and morning migraines and standing intolerance persisted. At 67 she wrote "I feel a new person and cannot quite believe it," while planning to continue toward a one-year mark before tapering to maintenance.
