Side effects and harms people mentioned
Found by scanning the summaries for side-effect language, so this list is incomplete and may include a mention that isn’t about Antibiotics itself. Read the story before drawing conclusions.
- Insomnia from treatment
Lyrica, benzodiazepines, tianeptine, quetiapine, rapamycin and methylprednisolone all failed and instead left him with months of severe insomnia.
- Side effects
She discontinued after four months due to accumulating side effects, and by her final post symptoms had returned roughly six weeks after stopping.
- Refeeding or deficiency problems
Within three weeks of refeeding he had regained the weight, and his old headaches returned once he resumed his glutathione and fenbendazole regimen, leaving the benefit only partly sustained.
- Made symptoms worse
Over several years of self-experimentation starting from very severe illness (Bell's disability score about 10, housebound 3+ years), he found graded exercise, the Myhill protocol, the Martin Pall protocol and various detox regimens made him worse, but improved gradually week-by-week using kinesiology, ivermectin, high-dose probiotics, rotating antibiotic combinations and anti-biofilm supplements, then treated presumed Lyme/Bartonella with antibiotics, a simplified methylation protocol, GcMaf/Bravo probiotic and 1st Line/lactoperoxidase-thiocyanate - which he says had "the greatest effect" - taking his Bell's score from 10 to 50.
- Liver or kidney problems
He later stopped all three drugs after his liver enzymes rose but says he "held on to my gains" afterward.
- Herx / die-off reaction
After 9 years of illness with significant fatigue and brain fog, an antibiotic protocol (drugs/doses not specified in this post) produced about 4 months of a severe Herxheimer-type reaction before it passed.
- Side effects
In the following roughly 10 days he gained 5kg up to his ideal weight without eating more or exercising, regained a normal early sleep/wake rhythm with 8 hours' sleep, and put his energy at "50-70% (depending on the day)." He is hopeful but hedges heavily - "cross fingers," "I expect ups and downs," "we'll see" - since it is a short window of improvement after a long, severe reaction.
- Side effects
After three months her CMV lymphocyte stimulation index dropped from 65 to 30 and she reported "feeling better" overall, gaining enough energy for the gym twice weekly, though with significant side effects she called the "drug from hell" (muscle and bone pain).
- Hospitalisation
Treating Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia and EBV, she reports her body "reacts terribly" to GcMAF, with worsening reactions across multiple injections that came "close to ER trips." She stopped GcMAF on her new practitioner's advice in favor of antibiotics and IV treatment, reporting no benefit and significant harm instead.
